Monkey Business, 2025
Team size: 6
Role: Producer, Lead Designer
Dev Time: ~ 48 hours
Background
Developed for a 48-hour Game Jam with the theme "Type to Play," Monkey Business is a unique typing-driven turret defense game. Drawing inspiration from the "Infinite Monkey Theorem," the game puts players in charge of a struggling office of monkeys. Players must type rapidly to empower their monkey staff, transforming their keystrokes into weaponry to fend off invaders. The core mechanic ties typing speed directly to unit energy, creating a high-stakes, frantic gameplay loop.
Contribution
Acting as both the creative and operational lead, I managed a 6-person team under the intense pressure of a 48-hour deadline. My primary focus was rapid ideation and execution: I conceptualized the core mechanics immediately following the theme announcement and successfully established a multi-pipeline development workflow. This strategic planning allowed us to bypass bottlenecks and deliver a highly polished, feature-complete game within the restrictive timeframe, showcasing my ability to lead and plan effectively under duress.
